Bryce McDonald
From a young age I've always had a passion and love for turf. I remember getting a plastic lawnmower at a Christmas party and pushed it around till the wheels fell off. Reading books on turf and journal articles was what I did in my spare time while chasing perfection year on year on my own home lawn.
In 2023 I started studying turf management part time and did my practical hours on weekends for a year and half at one of Johannesburg’s top golf clubs before qualifying as a greenkeeper.
In 2025 a lifelong dream of mine came true and I was fortunate enough to volunteer and be a part of the greenkeeping team at the JCB LIV Golf Tournament. Having gained valuable knowledge and experience, I plan on attending more large-scale tournaments around the world, learning from the best while honing my greenkeeping skills. I look forward to sharing my global knowledge and experience with The Lawn Shrinks’ clients, as well as local lawn lovers like myself.
